Jenny is a native Washingtonian and product of two generations of D.C-based journalists. Her love for Vermont grew out of a year spent on a small farm in Cuttingsville, Vermont in the mid-70’s. Jenny is a 1979 graduate of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts where she focused on environmental studies, and a1984 graduate of Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law School in Washington, D.C.

Her 15 years in the legal profession included working as a staff attorney for the Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources, a criminal prosecutor in Annapolis, MD, and a general practitioner in Woodstock, Vermont. Jenny also worked with Bill in Maryland as a real estate broker for 5 years.

Today, Jenny is able to pursue her real loves. She volunteers on the Norwich Fire Department’s EMT squad as well as at the Upper Valley Food Cooperative in White River Junction.

Jenny plays flute with a three-person ensemble, The Sylvianas, and leads a small peer group she founded called Child Free Ladies (CFL). CFL is a friendship-based resource center for exchanging information (from great hiking spots to good dentists), discussing topics (“what is kindness?” “what is your legacy?”) and sharing concerns, losses and joy.
Bill grew up in a navy family so the family moved continuously. After attending 12 schools, he graduated in 1967 from Dartmouth College. Bill, too, was commissioned in the Navy.

He served shipboard as a deck officer before being assigned to head up a Marine Corps Naval Gunfire spotting team in Vietnam. Upon his return stateside, he taught at the U.S. Naval Amphibious School.

Bill has had a diverse career since leaving the Navy. He opened a do-it-yourself car repair shop in Baltimore, set up a school to train chronically unemployed people to be automotive mechanics, built and operated several fast-food restaurants.

He has also served as Superintendent of Maryland’s Correctional Pre-release system, started Buyers 1st Realty - a boutique buyer-agency real estate company, and developed Settlement Xpress - a financial software product for the real estate industry.

Bill now spends his time on personal real estate and volunteer activities.
